The Cajun Bandit 18.5″ WSM Upgrade Kit has been packaged to increase the fuel capacity of your Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5″ Smoker and provides much needed improvement to the fit and function of the standard Weber door that comes supplied with your 18.5″ Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. This kit will provide for increased charcoal capacity, ease of use, and a sure seal to eliminate smoke loss through the door.
The stainless steel coal ring included in this kit improves both air flow regulation and much needed capacity for additional charcoal. Eliminating the common issue of vent jamming seen on the standard coal ring, consistent temperature control and adequate airflow is greatly improved. With an increased interior volume this stainless steel coal ring provides much needed capacity for additional fuel (charcoal) for longer, uninterrupted smoking sessions. With an integral four tab grate support system the stainless charcoal ring provides for easier cleaning and dumping as a single piece. The ring is 15 1/2″ in diameter and 5″ tall.
A well known failure point of the Weber Smokey Mountain series of smokers is the substandard door that it comes supplied with. This kit comes complete with the perfect solution to unnecessary heat loss and pesky smoke loss. Featuring an all stainless steel constructed 18 gauge door, your problems of temperature control are exponentially improved. Included with this door is an upgraded Lift & Turn latch that provides for smoother and more confident door closure. No need to deal with sticky glues and gaskets that will degrade overtime; this door is a permanent solution and built to last. This door will work with the 2008 and older and the 2009 and newer models.
All of the doors we sell are fit to a Weber WSM cylinder, but from time to time the door may have slight gaps on the top right or left side, you just have to shape the door to fit your cylinder, it may not look like it but there are slight differences from cylinder to cylinder, some receive the door and it fits like a glove, and others have found that it has to be shaped a little, it’s really simple, just bend it around a radius about the size of a gallon paint can if it’s the 18.5″ or about the size of a five gallon bucket if it’s the 22.5″, until the gap closes on the cylinder, putting more emphasis on the side with the gap.
